Moonrise
Ridge

Perfecting
The Natural Blend

The North Atlantic breeze carries the cool ocean mist across the fertile fields of the Annapolis Valley. Here, the fruit trees bask in cozy sunshine, caress dancing native bees, and root deeply in nutrient-rich, glacial soil. Called by many the fruit basket of North America, at Moonrise Ridge, we simply call it Home.

Like the thriving fruit trees of the idyllic Annapolis Valley, the Moonrise Ridge family has established deep roots in the soil of Atlantic Canada. And we invite you to share in the fruits of our labour: excite your senses with our uniquely Nova Scotian sweet and tart premium ciders, perfectly blended hard seltzers, and delicately balanced wines.

Hemmed in by the North and South Mountains of Nova Scotia and born from well-structured, acidic soil, the Annapolis Valley boasts ideal growing conditions for seasonal fruit. Like busy bees tending orchard blossoms, the farmers here are proud stewards of the land, enablers of sustainable agriculture.

Settled atop North Mountain in Canning, Nova Scotia, Moonrise Ridge overlooks the breathtaking natural splendor of the Annapolis Valley.  Once called Apple Tree Landing, this historic region, situated along the Bay of Fundy’s southern shore, has always been celebrated as one of Canada’s premier farming locales.

We invite you to join in that celebration. Get a taste of life in the Annapolis Valley.

Generations later, the Webb family still calls Nova Scotia home

Wanderlust captured Samuel Webb at an early age. No longer could the rolling hills of Scotland hold him. The promise of freedom and the unspoilt land of the new world compelled him across the North Atlantic.

The voyage for Samuel was fortuitous: the lush greenery and open fields of Nova Scotia welcomed him upon landing, and here, in 1778, he laid the foundation of the Webb family home.

Generations later, the Webb family still calls Nova Scotia, Canada home. We founded Moonrise Ridge to celebrate this beautiful land and welcome the world to taste its wonders.

Moonrise Ridge is an authentically Canadian, family-owned business. We partner with Atlantic Canada’s top fruit-producing farmers and experienced winemakers to craft alcoholic beverages as crisp and refreshing as autumn air at harvest moon.

100% natural, locally sourced, and lovingly hand-crafted in small batches, Moonrise Ridge’s wines, ciders and seltzers are a delicious gift of the east coast, a celebration of all that is Canada!

LET THEM WITH GREAT TASTE CONCOCT GREAT TASTE!

WE RAISE OUR BEVERAGES TO OUR BEVERAGE MAKERS!
AND TO THEIR 100+ YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE!

John

HEAD WINEMAKER/
WINEVISIONARY

John, a true Canadian grape artist, joined the Moonrise Ridge family with nearly 50 years experience as an oenologist. When his inventor’s mind isn’t dreaming up inspiring taste combinations, John also enjoys designing, developing and installing the apparati that serves to make each flavorful cuvée.

John knows his craft and is great company; he lets his wine do the talking.

Nancy

HEAD CIDERMAKER/
CREATOR OF DELICIOUSNESS

Running a winery was part of growing up for British Columbia native Nancy Klokocka. Lured from the Okanagan by the opportunity to experiment with the world’s freshest and tastiest fruits, Nancy relocated to the Annapolis Valley where she now develops and produces – from fruit selection through fermentation to bottling – each can of our crisp and quenching ciders.

Peter

ASSISTANT WINE &
CIDERMAKER

When you’re raised on a winery, drink making and business operations come second nature. That is the case for Peter, who left his Okanagan home to broaden his horizons – eventually becoming an executive chef for Sheraton Hotels and Casinos in Calgary, Alberta. But the call of Moonrise Ridge was too strong; he now assists John and Nancy and leads the charge of equipment maintenance, sanitation and production.
